Images from Win8China seem to confirm that in the latest beta version of Windows 8, users can choose the color of their start screen.
In the Developer Preview the only thing you could change was your PC name and the colors of the tiles, not the color of the start screen itself. So this is already a definite improvement on the Developer Preview and is starting to give us a better, working idea of what to expect from Windows 8.

Also in the new beta version it seems that you will have more control over how the new operating system is installed too. From the screenshots we can see you can choose an Express setting or you can individually fine-tune the settings for such things as automatic updates, security settings and browsing options.

I'm not sure that this new method is easier to use than the one we were shown by Winunleaked, but we will have to wait until February when the Beta version is launched to see. .

Finally after setting your settings you get to Sign-In to Your PC. In the beta leaked screen shots this is shown as a traditional username and password set up, albeit with two passwords, but according to recent news from Microsoft, as reported on MSDN blog, you can choose to sign in with a Windows Live ID instead.

To see what else, if anything else has changed or been tweaked, we'll have to wait to February to see.
