Addressing developers earlier this month, Antoine Leblond announced that the first version of the app store will go out to consumers in the Beta launch of Windows 8 in February 2012.
Leblond also revealed the revenue sharing model for apps sold on the Windows 8 app store. 70% until the app has reached $25,000, then 80% thereafter.
Leblond also announced that Gartner predicts that over 400 million PCs will be shipped in the next twelve months and that Windows 8 will be one of the largest markets for apps for developers to use with over 500 million Windows users as opposed to 247 million Android users and 152 million iOS users.

Leblond also announced that their entire catalogue of apps from the Windows 8 store will be made available to search engines to make it easier for customers to find apps they want to buy.
Developers will also be able to promote their apps through their websites and online promotion through Internet Explorer 10.
There is also good news for developers of Open Source Apps, as Microsoft will enable them to be stocked on their Windows 8 App store, at least according to ComputerWeekly.com.
They say that Microsoft will allow applications that have been released under an Open Source Initiative (OSI) license and that use HTML5, JavaScript and CSS will be listed on their App store.
All Leblond said on this matter was that "the Windows Store is an opportunity to reach customers with free and paid apps in 231 markets worldwide... in the language of their choice."
So will open source apps be available in the Windows Store? We'll have to wait until February to see.

Thanks for the useful article. I’m glad that I found this blog. However, I was wondering maybe you can help me and tell me where I can find redirect virus removal for free? My computer got infected by this worm or Trojan (not sure which one) and I would like to disable it. Do you know some softwares that deletes this virus? Maybe some new antivirus? Thanks in advance. Or should I install Win 8 ??
